Research programme

The research was carried out in four areas: "School as a foreign language environment", "Futurology of School Education", "Designing the model of a modern Russian School Abroad" and "Human resources for a Russian Schools Abroad".

The first track "School as a foreign language environment" analyzes the socio-political context of the organization of Russian Schools Abroad (V.A. Yasvin, R.I. Kotov), presents the history and current situation of Russian Schools Abroad (A.S. Khromikh), considers the theory and methodology of school educational environment organization, and conducts a comparative analysis of the experience of international educational networks organization in history and the present (V.A. Yasvin).

The second track "Futurology of School Education'' highlights current educational priorities and strategies (V.A. Yasvin), considers the development of new forms and methods of education, such as the design of individual educational paths by tutors and educational design (M.A. Pinskaya, N.L. Galeeva, I.S. Demakov, A.V. Stekhov). It also presents and analyzes the best international practices in modern education (A.V. Golubitsky, I.S. Demakov).

In the third track, the researchers present "Designing the model of a modern Russian School Abroad" projects, covering issues of organizational and educational model and open personality-development environment of Russian international school, as well as technology of their psychological and pedagogical monitoring (V.A. Yasvin), project of RSA digital outline (S.A. Petrikovsky) and the experience of pilot implementation of different models of organization of Russian Schools Abroad in foreign countries (I.S. Demakov).

Finally, in the fourth track "Human resources for a Russian Schools Abroad" modern strategies and technologies of training and professional development of teachers (K.G. Mitrofanov) are considered; training programmes for teachers (M.A. Pinskaya) and leaders (V.A. Yasvin) of the RSA schools are presented. Mechanisms for formation of expert community and network cooperation of Russian Schools Abroad (V.A. Yasvin) are developed.

The outcome of the Department's research and project work was the manuscript of the collective monograph "Russian School Abroad: Modern Pedagogy and Educational Design in a Foreign Language Environment", edited by A.V. Torkunov and V.A. Yasvin.
