Modern strategies, approaches and tools of organizing the educational process

17 august 2023
On Thursday, a team from the Department of Educational Systems and Pedagogical Technologies completed an online teacher training program as part of the "Russian Schools Abroad" project in Turkey.

During two weeks, teachers of the online school for Muslim children "Uma Klass" studied pedagogical strategies of "active learning": lesson design according to the "4K" model, the organization of diagnostics of the learning process and tools for the development of students' learning independence, the basics of blended learning, project-research activities and strategies for preparation for state final certification.

At the end, the co-authors and teachers of the program - M.A. Pinskaya, associate professor of the department and scientific director of the master's program "Modern Pedagogy and Educational Design", and A.V. Kuzmina, deputy director of Gorchakov Lyceum - held a general reflection on the results of the course.

Comprehension and actualization of the acquired knowledge, translation into practice in one's daily activities is an incredibly important stage of learning. The teachers of the department always pay special attention and time to this in their lessons and programs.

For each of the 8 topics, student-teachers in teams wrote down the definitions and concepts important to them, skills, methods and tools, as well as their answers to the question: how exactly will I apply this new knowledge? The students showed themselves to be creative and enthusiastic professionals and put their best effort into this work. As a result, each group got a colorful mind-map, gathering together all the main discoveries for two weeks. The teams came up with their own slogan as a title for the map:

  • Education is the foundation for building our future
  • We develop everyone's potential
  • We let the child walk on his own under the supervision of a teacher
  • We teach! We support! We inspire!
  • Our goal is 4K
  • Who did not fall, did not rise
  • The right strategy is successful learning!
  • Crayfish, chamomile and other methods of delayed stress syndrome prevention

Marina Pinskaya summed up this work: "The main slogan of active and visible teaching is that students should become teachers for each other, and teachers should see learning through the eyes of their students. Today, we were able to see the learning process through the eyes of our students and feel that whatever we do as teachers, students will always turn it into something of their own. And it's going to be completely different for everyone in your class. Therefore, the more space you give them for freedom, for sharing with each other, for independent search, the more productive your joint work with students will be. It's been very interesting, we've done a lot in that short time, and I'm very grateful for this joint effort."

And the teachers shared their impressions:

"We have gained a lot of new experience. The teachers did a great job of "pumping" us up."
"Through the classes, I remembered that although you are a teacher, you are also always a student."
"You revealed a lot of new things to us: as if it was somewhere nearby, but you showed us this, drew attention to the most important things."

We thank the participants of the program for such a productive start to the academic year and hope that this year will be creative, successful and productive for them.
