"Russian Schools Abroad: MGIMO to train 150 teachers abroad

On November, 1, the RSA project started the regular advanced training course by the Interfaculty Department of Educational Systems and Pedagogical Technologies of MGIMO. It is carried out for Russian teachers abroad within the framework of the "Russian Schools Abroad" Strategic Project of the Priority 2030 state programme.

The lecturers of the course "Active Learning Strategies" are recognized Russian experts in competency-based approach in education - Head of the master's programme "Contemporary pedagogy and educational design", scientific adviser to the "Russian Schools Abroad" project Associate Professor M. Pinskaya and teacher of master's programme "Contemporary pedagogy and educational design", methodologist of educational programmes of the "Invest in Future" Foundation A. Stekhov.

During the course they will familiarize the students with the analysis of the peculiarities of modern lesson design, talk about effective teaching strategies and methods of diagnostics of educational results, as well as reveal the peculiarities of educational activities in the blended learning format that is popular today.

Teachers and administrators from the RSA partner - Lomonosov school in Bishkek, which opened the second RSA school on the model of the MGIMO Lyceum School, teachers and educational managers from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin and teachers from the humanitarian project "Russian Teacher Abroad" implemented by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in September 2012 joined as participants in the "Active Learning Strategies"  course. Totally 150 people working in different parts of the world - Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Serbia - will improve their professional skills.

This is the largest full-time (distance learning) programme of the department and the RSA project to date.

The “Russian Schools Abroad” Project

The “Russian Schools Abroad” Project (RSA) is one of the five strategic projects implemented by MGIMO under the "Priority 2030" state programme to support Russian universities. The project meets the urgent need of Russian-speaking citizens and foreigners for qualified secondary and additional education outside the Russian Federation. In 2022, the first two schools were opened - in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). By 2030 at least 15 RSA schools will be opened abroad.
